Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is one of the three essential elements that every DP student completes as part of the Diploma Programme (DP). Students also plan and execute a month-long CAS Project during the course which enables them to enhance their personal and interpersonal skills by learning through experience. ASI's students, under the able guidance of their facilitators, have been contributing to this core component regularly.
The CAS project named- “I care, do you?” was concluded in April 2021. The project was based on creating awareness among the less privileged strata of the society about feminine hygiene. With defined learning outcomes including engagement with issues of global significance, demonstrating and recognised the benefits of working collaboratively, students were able to investigate, prepare, demonstrate and execute the project seamlessly. They worked together tirelessly in preparing the awareness campaign posters, skits and were even successful in collecting upto Rs.5000 through a donation drive. The proceeds were used to buy sanitary napkins and disinfectants, helping the underprivileged to upgrade their well-being.
In addition to this, "Share the warmth", is a project which was conceived in December 2020 in association with NGO Rahi and has been a part of ASI's charitable work ever since. The entire school community comes together to donate unused warm clothes to the needy to subsist through the cold winters here in north India.
Students also organised a fundraiser during the school's Diwali Mela and donated the earnings to the well-known charity organisation - CRY(Child Rights and You). The constructive projects are planned, implemented and executed by the senior students of our school at all times.
These young adults are also continuously engaging themselves in various creative and activity-based elements including cooking, baking, sports (playing at district/state levels) and fitness workouts in their daily routine etc.
CAS engagements, provide opportunities to students for self-determination and collaboration with others, fostering a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment from their work, thereby hence helping them become lifelong learners.
